Liqueur

Absinthe is a strong herbal liqueur made with a variety of flavorful herbs like licorice, anise, hyssop, veronica, angelica, lemon balm and the most notorious - wormwood (Artemisia absinthium).

It is an emerald green alcoholic drink, bitter in taste. It's traditionally poured over a perforated spoon of sugar into water - turning it an opaque white as the essential oils precipitate out of the alcoholic solution.
