Mad Dog Shot recipe

1 oz vodka
1 tsp concentrated raspberry syrup
2 - 5 drops Tabasco® sauce

Pour the vodka into a shot glass and add some raspberry syrup (should be concentrated, look for it at a Polish section in an international supermarket). Add a few drops of Tabasco hot sauce., and shoot.

Pour in the raspberry syrup first

It works better if you pour the syrup in first and float the vodka on top. You can use a spoon to help pour it more gently into the shot glass. I just came back from Krakow, Poland and thats how they made Mad Dogs there.

Tabasco and raspberry syrup... sounds crazy right. but this really works somehow. Too much tabasco will ruin it for sure. But get it just right and you get a nice sweet taste going down with a surprising kick at the end. Kinda like when you eat red hots.

You're right Darren. it works better this way and this drink is of Polish origin of course. if you want to try so-called REAL Mad Dog Shot, replace vodka with pure spirit of at least 95% of alcohol:) Greetings from Poland!

Don't pour the syrup in first

If you pour the syrup in first it will mix with the vodka and ruin the layered effect.

But still an awesome shot, the sweet syrup and the spicy sauce give it a strange but great taste. You can also use habanero tabasco sauce which is hotter and gives a bigger kick!!

Sorry that you polish can take it stronger, the strongest drink available legally in the uk is 60% or 80%.
