1 tsp Nescafe instant coffee
2 tsp sugar
1 splash milk
ice
cold water

In a tall glass place a shot of water. Add instant coffee and sugar. The more coffee the more stronger. It's up to you how much sugar you will have. With no sugar we call it "sketos" (plain or black), with 1 tsp "metrios" (medium), and with 2 or more "glykos" (sweet). Blend with one of those small hand mixers. Add a splash of milk or more if wanted. Add lots of ice and fill it up with cold water. Serve.

True Greek frappe

This is the proper way to make the frappes you get in Greece. If you want to be super-traditional use a small coffee shaker, not a hand mixer or even cocktail mixer. You can find the shakers at many Mediterranean import shops or if you're lucky to live in an area with a strong Greek population just hit up a 5 and 10.

Some joints use powdered milk to make the drink frothier.

Pretty much lived off these in kavos, corfu!!!

Everyday.. in a cafe on the beach... frappe in hand... ahhh.. perfect..

I had this drink in romania while i was there. it was extreemly popular and i had it almost every day!! .. out to eat, and at my fiances parents house. i've never heard of making it with powdered milk though.. excellent tip! i've found that it's best to use as little water as possible when first mixing the coffee and sugar together (with a spoon or mixer.. i've never tried to do it with a shaker). mmm mmm mmmm super! :)
