5 oz chilled Champagne

Pour stout into a champagne flute. Add champagne carefully, so it does not mix with stout, and serve.

Apple Cider variation

A common variation is to use Apple Cider rather than champagne ... much easier to get a Guiness & Cider "Black Velvet" in a bar.

This didn't taste very well, but I think so because I added a sweeter champagne...I recommend one with 00 sweetness or very low.

I was sitting in an ancient London pub drinking a cider/guinness, when an old timer leaned over and was amazed at me drinking the mix and revealed it`s name of Mud and Blood. Not the poormans Black Velvet.
