Whenever I get a Shirley Temple the bartender either doesn't add enough syrup or adds too much. I like the cherry flavor but when there is too much syrup the taste becomes to sugary. One day I decided to try and counter it by adding the sweetened lime juice. Not only did it counter the sweetness, it also made its own unique taste.

I did not add any amounts because different people like different amounts of syrup. You need to experiment to find the right amount for yourself
