This is a great drink...we used to order these in the 70's at a bar/restaurant on Third Street near Reids. It had been the location of a beautiful home. There was outdoor seating in the courtyard in front. White lights lit up the trees. At one time it was a crepe specialty restaurant. Anyhoo, I return to CLT to visit Emily and the girls--will order another one someday!

Cheers!
Try this variation....

Instead of using the light cream....throw the 2 shots into the blender with a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream! Top it off with some whip cream and a cherry

Goes down so smoothly with barely a taste of alcohol but you will get the distinct flavor from the mix of the 2 liqueurs that gives the drink its name. If you like White Russians or any drinks like that, Toasted Almond is just as good if not better than all the rest of these drinks with similar base ingredients.

Highly recommended to just relax with, without being in a place like a loud bar or club but in a somewhat peaceful bar or at a house party.
A hell of a good time

Really tastes like what it's called. Not too much alcohol, but usually I like to add more amaretto and a little less cream to notch up the alcohol content. So good going down and it doesn't even make you flinch, but after a number of these you'll start to feel them really come on.
Delicious~

I agree with Michele tastes great with vanilla ice cream instead of the light cream. OMG its Heaven!!!! where i drink them they make swirls on the inside of the glass with chocolate syrup then pour in the drink. Mmmmmmmmmmm awesome.

I didn't want an alcoholic recipe, I wanted just plain old Toasted Almonds!!!
A lighter version

My brother made me one of these, but only had 1% milk in the house. This is my favorite cocktail, and I actually prefer it with 1-2% milk instead of cream. I enjoy it over ice.
Excellent

Just had this drink for the first time while on vacation in Mexico. Great after dinner drink or just-sitting-at-home-relaxing drink. I always loved a good Amaretto Sour but this has taken over. Will be a favorite winter drink!
