Top Shelf?

Since when does a "Top Shelf" Margarita get sweet and sour mix and not fresh lime juice? Why isn't a good 100% agave tequila called for?

Use good tequila and wow!

We mix with Patron Silver and this is the BEST margarita ever. We'll never go back to blended!
Not bad!!

I like this, a little sour, but still good. Next time i am going to use less sweet and sour mix.

Use that real tequila like don julio or patron.
Try Margarita Cocktail #4

Try Margarita Cocktail #4 with Patrone Anejo. I think it gets the edge over this one.
Too Sweet, Too Sour

Grand Marnier does make all the difference, but this recipe has too much lime juice and too much Sour Mix. I like my "top shelf" heavier on the Grand Marnier, and just a splash of lime and sour mis.
Awesome Margarita

One of the best i've ever had. Use 100% agave tequila like Patron and you'll think it's the best youv'e ever had!

Ok, but too sour

posted by KyferEz @ 08:48AM, 8/03/07

It's ok. It was too sour. I definitely agree with poster S: It has too much lime juice and too much sour mix and not enough Grand Marnier.

Note: I used fresh squeezed lime juice...

I recommend altering the recipe as follows:
1oz Grand marnier
2oz Sweet & Sour mix
1/2 oz lime juice
All other ingredients the same
