5 oz grapefruit juice

Pour ingredients into a highball glass over ice cubes. Stir well and serve. (Vodka may be substituted for gin, if preferred.)

In San Francisco, the bartenders usually rim the glass with a bit of coarse bar salt (not too much) when serving a Greyhound. This goes quite nicely with the taste of grapefruit juice.
