1 qt water
3 cups sugar
4 tbsp instant coffee
1 tbsp vanilla

Bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour. Let cool and add vanilla and either a pint or fifth of vodka. Drink and enjoy.

Perhaps the only problem with this recipe is that it doesn't actually use Kahlua.

Pete, it makes bottles of Kalhua! Ideal for me because I can't drink the real stuff. I'm alergic to preservative 220 and can't risk the chance that it is an (unlisted) ingredient.

It doesn't use Kahlua because it is Kahlua.

This recipe is to make khalua so it doesnt actually need the khalua....this recipe is easy to make and tastes really good when you mix it with milk!! MMMMM, yummy!!

I make this with 190 proof Clear Spring and I use only folgers instant coffee.... I have found the longer it is bottled the smoother and nicer it is. I had some that was put away for 8 years and it was the best i have ever had. This is a great recipe.
