A less sweet variation

If you use UNSWEETENED grapefruit juice, a bit more vodka and a bit less triple sec (or, even better, a small amount of Cointreau) - you get a richer flavor, a stiffer drink, and less sweet.

If you want to adjust the sweetness, you can use simple syrup (1 cup sugar; 1 cup water; cook down until it thickens some ... keeps in the fridge for several weeks.)
