Heat in a heat-resistant glass, and fill with hot water. Add a lemon slice speared with a clove, and serve.
Delish!

I've been feeling under the weather all week, and with a bad storm setting in I wanted a hot drink to soothe my sore throat and ensure I sleep well (which I didn't last night). Having made a single in a big mug with double honey, I think I've found the "cure" and have even forwarded the recipe on to friends! Yum!
No bitters or clove I found though, so I just added 1oz Jim Beam to the traditional honey 'n' lemon: delicious!
Hate it

Is it supposed to burn your nose if you accidentally sniff it as you raise it to your lips? I guess it did help clean my sinuses! :)
Yum!

I liked it straight but then I tried adding a pinch of nutmeg and cinnamon to the mix, and it was really amazing! You should try it!
Who would have known !!

My husband had felt bad for a week, even went to the doctors office, and took over the counter medications but nothing seemed to work. So family and friends told him about the famous "hot toddy". He drank up and who would have known that it actually works, but has an awful taste !!
Tried it last night!

Have been drinking Hot Toddies for about a year now, but never had any with cloves....they are such a nice touch! I'm kind of bias I guess though because i love any type of whiskey, scotch or Bourbon......

I love this drink. I usually order it at bars in the winter time. It is absolutely wonderful.
Very good!

I am sick with the flu. I have tried everything else. So I went to the store and bought ingredients. It is very good. I like it. If it works great. If not, I had a good drink on a winter day. At noon no less.
Always does the trick

I add a cinnamon stick, and it always does the trick when I have a cold and need to clear out my nasal passages, soothe my throat, and help me fall asleep. It works better than Nyquil any day!
An ancient cure

This is an old Irish favorite, usually a night-cap or after a long cold day. I like it with Paddy's Irish Whiskey (triple distilled and only available in Ireland), but Jameson's will suffice. I also don't use lemon, but it sounds good.
The old test to see if this drink works for you is if you start to sweat and then pass out!
Good stuff

I went through a package of Ludins and almost a whole bottle of Advil liquid gels before I tried this. Worked perfectly. I didn't use the slice of lemon or the cloves.
I feel like a totally new person today after drinking this, I'm just not telling my boss so she won't let me work from home next time.
Yay!

Honey, lemon, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove to Glen Morangie and boiling water. Yum!!! I feel better already.
I am telling you - it works!

I was sicker than than a dog when a few years ago, an elderly friend of mine told me about the hot toddy and although I was apprehensive at first, I thought "what the heck". As bad as I was feeling, I was willing to try anything and since I highly respected my friend, I listened. So, far several years when I would would feel as bad as I did yesterday, I would measure the ingredients precisely and every single time, this cure would work for me. The only difference for me was that the recipe I use has only these ingredients: whiskey, lemon juice, honey, and hot water. When you feel like you are coming down with flu symptoms or just feel like crap, this really works. Whiskey makes me gag since I got really drunk on it one time so I hate it. But it is the only thing that works for me in hot toddy. Good luck!
Hope it works!!!
