Fernet with Coke recipe

Fernet with Coke is one of the most popular drinks in Argentina. The Coca-cola (or Coke) should be cold but the Fernet Branca can be at a normal temperature.

1 oz Fernet Branca® bitters
2 oz Coca-Cola®

Place 2 or 3 ice cubes in a cocktail glass. Pour Fernet Branca over the ice, then holding the glass in a diagonal way, slowly pour the coke.

The most unlikely likeable drink

The first time I tried Fernet with Coke: Oh my god, this is the vilest thing I've ever tasted. This is worse than Nyquil.

The third time I tried Fernet with Coke: Okay, this is my new favorite drink.

We've found that Fernet also goes amazingly well with Boylan's Black Cherry soda (real sugar, no high-fructose corn syrup).

Here in Argentina we usually eat Asado on sundays, but it is one of my favorite habits to have a Fernet with coke before eating, other people drink Bermuth, but nothing can compare to a good fernet befora an Asado.

I found this drink with my friends in Argentina. They drink heaps of this and it's only 3 to 4 quid a bottle. It's about 17 bloody quid here!

Neat FB must be good for your health because it tastes like the worst medicine from your childhood. With Coke it is actually extremely drinkable especially at 10 euros a bottle in Italy.
