Try it with Cherri Pepsi

Try 2 tall shots of Cap'n with a glass of Wild Cherri Pepsi. Trust me.
Pepsi>Coke

In my opinion pepsi is much better to use than coke when mixing with rum. A big mistake a lot of people make when creating these types of drinks, is they mix them. Your drink will taste much better if you just plunk the ice in the bottom, pour your alcohol, then slowly pour the soda on top. If you are a fan of this drink, be sure to try SoCo and pepsi as well.
Coke is better

The drink is Captain and Coke, not Captain and Pepsi.
50/50

I like it with a 50/50 mix of pepsi/rum. More of a kick and tastes almost the same.
