If desired, the martini can be shaken with the lemon peel, to extract even more of the oils. Remember - no garnish. After all, this is a clean martini!
This was invented circa 2001 by VMWrites, who was seeking a clean martini, unadorned by "fruit" in the glass (olives, onions, peel, etc.). He chose Skky Vodka for its clean finish, and the lemon for its refreshing taste. But not in the glass.
