This drink was invented by Andrew Ahl and Amy Alberts in Seattle, Washington on September 3rd, 2008. We had some time on our hands and it was cocktail hour. Amy had recently purchased Yazi brand ginger-infused vodka. The name of this drink is derived from Amy's year-long training plan to hike to base camp Everest in 2009.
