This drink was invented at Western Maryland College in Westminster MD, now called McDaniel College (don't really know why)
Anyway, the inventor (a friend of mine) was trying to mix a stronger slightly different margarita, and kept getting plain drinks, until he ran out of ice one day and discovered the recipe when chilled smoothed things out... but the great thing is the pucker that kept when the drink is not super cold.
The name came from his friends when the pucker from the drink (think lemon heads candy) grabbed the back of your mouth on the way down and you couldnt help but smile... hence... smilie juice. Nice when ran back to back with beer. Cheers!
